Mostly going to drop a whole bunch of photos in this post...
We got up early this morning to head to Lamar Valley to see wildlife. While we didn't happen upon any bears or wolves (or moose - though I'm not sure that's their location anyway), we saw more bison than we could ever count. Hundreds? Thousands? Yes.
This picture was 5:39 a.m. Those who know us know this is IMPRESSIVE!
Sunrise...
Deer (maybe antelope?) near Roosevelt Lodge
Hundreds?
Thousands?
So. Many. Bison.
And they are GIANT.
Pretty fun to see the calf crossing the road.
Bison on the ridge.
This was formed by a hot spring long ago.
Even deer are exciting when you're in Yellowstone.
Undine Falls
Wildflowers, water, mountains... and the bison are juuuuuust off to the right (out of the picture).
Not sure this was the official "bison jam" we were in, but this is an example. At one point there was a ranger with a flag, trying to get bison out of the road and LOTS of cars stopped all around.
Really I took this for the sign.
This is as you're leaving Roosevelt Lodge. We didn't stay there but drove through to see it - it's closed right now because of construction nearby. But this seems like a good way to sign off from Yellowstone. It says, “So long pardner - come back soon!” Next up, Glacier!

Loving the pictures. When you get to Glacier say "Hi" to the Clarke's, from CPC who volunteer out there. Not sure if there's more than one welcome/visitor center so I have no idea if you'll run into them but tell Jeff and Carolyn hello if you do.
