We hung out there and caught up before taking a double decker bus to the Vodafone store for SIM cards. No sense in paying $10/day for international fees on my current plan! After that, Brittany and the kids headed home while Seth gave us a brief initial tour of some highlights.
We got to see New College where Seth is studying this year, including a statue of John Knox. This Presbyterian girl loved that!
We saw the cafe where J.K. Rowling did her writing, and promised to come back to that area soon for some more exploring.
By this time it was 3 p.m. or so, and we needed to get some lunch. Fish and chips for me!
We then went back to Seth and Brittany’s flat to get our luggage and take it to our vrbo. We went back to their flat for a card game and dinner and more catchup time.
Now it’s 9 p.m. and we officially powered through the first day! Now for some sleep.
It was a banner day!

Nancy -- it looks like a GREAT trip already! I love those ancient-looking buildings, at least compared to anything we have here in the U.S. Now I think I need to go to Scotland too! :)
